The Red Wagon Story
With a passion for revitalizing Downtown Weldon, Andy Whitby began investing in local buildings in 2001.
After years of setbacksβincluding an empty department store during the Great Recessionβhe refused to give up.
In 2015, he launched what he called The Lemonade Projectβturning a struggling property into an opportunity.
By 2017, a vendor market was born.
By 2022, it had a new nameβRed Wagonβinspired by nostalgia, community, and new beginnings.
Today, Red Wagon is more than a market.
Itβs a launching pad for small businesses and a driving force in Downtown Weldonβs revival.

Weldonβs rich history with the railroad will be explored this Thursday, Oct 15th, when Weldon in Action presents the IrvΔ±n FrancΔ±s Kyle III Speaker Program on Weldon, NC: Two Centuries of Railroading.
The guest speaker will be Tony Reevy, a renowned railroad historian and author who is well-versed in Weldonβs railroad history. There will be displays of model trains and railroad artifacts.
Join us this Thursday, Oct. 15th at 5:30 at Halifax Community College Building 400.
